Col. Robert Marvin Peach

Col. Robert Marvin Peach, U.S. Army (Retired), 93, recently of Glen Arm, Md., peacefully passed away in Athens on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2012.
Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, he was the son of Methodist missionaries, the Rev. Preston L. and Nora N. Peach. He was a career Army veteran who served in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II, the Pentagon during the Korean Conflict, and in Pleiku during the Vietnam War.
After his retirement in 1970, he worked for the State of Maryland. He graduated from Randolph Macon College in 1941 and did graduate work in history at Texas A&M University.
Survivors include his wife, Brownley Haug Peach, most recently of Athens; two daughters and sons-in-law, the Rev. Ellen H. Peach and David Reese of Hazard, Ky., and Susan and Charles C. Senn of Athens; grandchildren, B. Elizabeth Senn of Wilmington, N.C., and Mary and Seth Tinsley of Salisbury, N.C.; and step-grandchildren, Andras and Katy Koppanyi of Richmond, Va., and Dr. Jeremy and Tamara Reese of Pittsburgh, Pa. He was blessed with six great-grandchildren.
Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, Md. on Thursday with burial the following day in Mt. Oak Cemetery in Mitchellville, Md.
