Elsie Lisa Alexander, 73, of Athens, and formerly of West Springfield, Mass., died Monday evening, Oct. 1, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native and longtime resident of West Springfield, Mass., and a resident of Athens for one year, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Clara M. Cavicchi Cody, and was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John R. Alexander; an infant son, Randy Bestpitch; and one brother, William \"Bill\" Cody. She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Susan A. and Brian Brosseau of West Springfield, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Nan Suksta of Laurel, Md.; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Teresa Alexander of Athens; five grandchildren, John Tyler Alexander, Ashley Alexander Pillion, Joshua Alexander, Cody Brosseau and Brett Brosseau; two step-granddaughters, Jessica Pilkerton and Rachel Herron; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Alexander and Jaley Pillion; one brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Eleanor Cody of West Springfield, Mass.; a lifelong sisterly friend, Gloria Masotti Schlax of West Springfield, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no formal local visitation or service.
