Steven Anthony Ghorley, 55, of Athens, died Monday morning, Oct. 1, 2012, at Turkey Creek Medical Center.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Efton Ghorley, and was an employee of Thomas & Betts for 32 years.
Survivors include his wife of six years, Betty Galyon Ghorley of Athens; his mother, Mary Sue Moore Ghorley of Athens; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Crystal and David Kerr of Wake Forest, N.C., Camissa and John Kerr of Wake Forest, N.C., and Stefanie Ghorley and Susannah and Chris Rogers, all of Athens; eight grandchildren, Bailey Kerr, Maddie Kerr, Felix Kerr, William Kerr, Sam Kerr, Levi Ghorley, Ruthie Rogers and Lizzie Ghorley; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Linda Ghorley of Athens; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Mary Galyon of Englewood.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Swafford officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
