Lorraine Holzer, 74, of Decatur, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Elsie Legenski; and one sister, Virginia Zarnstroff.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Holzer of Decatur; one son, David Holzer and his wife, Marilyn, of Denham Spring, La.; three daughters, Debra Schmidt and her husband, Jim, of Madison, Wis., Deanna Mathiak and her husband, David, of Lusaka, Zambia, and Dawn Ward and her husband, Richard, of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Jennifer Smith and her husband, Chris, Ethan Mathiak and Michael Ward; one sister, Bea Courtney of Cameron, N.C.; and her beloved dog, Kate.

Special thanks to caregivers Jane Lawson, Melessa Hall and Megan Bidwell.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lockwood Funeral home in Elkhorn, Wis., with visitation from noon to 2 p.m.. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Delavan, Wis.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Chattanooga.
