Donald Ransom Price, 80, of Athens, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at his residence.



A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Ransom and Vesta McDonald Price, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Bobby Price, Jimmy Price, Kenneth Price and Hobert Price; two sisters, Kelly Jones and Mary Sue Dodson; an infant sister, Helen Price; twin brother and sister, Charles Price and Reba Price; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, O.H. and Nannie Yarbrough; and one daughter-in-law, Sheila Price.



He was a member of Old Pond Hill Baptist Church, was a social member of the VFW of Athens, and was a former employee of McKeehan Chair Company.



Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Helen Price of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Clarence Dewayne \"Buster\" and Judy Fish Price of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Donzella and Ronnie Couch of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Carolyn Price of Athens; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Pauleda and J.D. Wilson of Decatur, Sybil and Claude Irons and Jackie Rudd, all of Athens, and Billie Rose and Morris Hammonds of Etowah; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Jean Yarbrough; two grandchildren, April Couch and Angie Couch; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Carroll and Ty Carroll; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services were 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Myrl Vaughn officiating. Graveside services were 11 a.m. Monday at McMinn Memory Gardens.



Active pallbearers were Ruby Partain, Randy Charles, Michael Farmer, Brandon Underwood, Randy Irons, Rick Irons and Joey Carroll.



The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
