Mildred Marie Gardner Cain, 85, of Tellico Plains, the widow of Alden Cain, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Manchester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Rebecca Gardner; three sisters, Edna and Betty Joe Gardner and Ethel Kilby; three brothers, Enos Gardner, Arnold Gardner and Frankie Gardner; and one son-in-law, James \"Dean\" Smith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Billy Smith, of Manchester; three sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll and Kaye Cain of Orange Park, Fla., Willy and Margie Cain of Englewood, and Harold and Linda Cain of Etowah; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Jr. Ferry of Madisonville; and three brothers, Herbert Gardner of Tellico Plains, Floyd Gardner of Madisonville, and L.C. Gardner of Spring Hill.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Webb and the Rev. Allen Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home.
Biereley-Hale Funeral Home of Tellico Plains is in charge of arrangements.
