Sandra \"Big Mama\" White, 57, of Athens, died Monday morning, Sept. 17, 2012, at her residence.
A native of Pale City, Ala., and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Bobby Earl and Mamie Sue Plemons Underdown. She was well known for her singing \"Happy Birthday\" to her customers at Gondolier, where she worked for more than 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Artemio Briones of Athens; one son, Joshua Clark of Athens; eight grandchildren, Isabella Castillo, Antulio Castillo, Elena Briones, Austin Clark, Jordan Clark, Kayla Clark, Madison Clark and Donta Clark; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Phil Chidwick of Ooltewah, and Darlene and Andrew Williams of Lexington, Ky.; her former husband, Clyde White of Athens; her best friends, Gail Ramsey and Kay Recht; one nephew and two nieces, Travis Schievelhud, Kelli Robinson and Jade Williams; and a host of adopted kids, grandkids and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Restoration Church in Riceville with the Rev. Billy Leamon officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens with Tyson Leamon singing.
Pallbearers will be Travis Recht, Aaron Recht, Matthew Recht, Antulio Castillo, Austin Clark, Brian Hafley, Brian McAnally and Wilburn Cannon Jr.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
