Sheila June Thomas, 58, of Athens, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.
She was a member of Everlasting Life Christian Center, where she served as a greeter and hostess. She was employed with Hamilton County Schools as a food service manager, and also worked as a residential aide for Tri-County Center. She enjoyed reading, spending time with friends and family and praising the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinnis Thomas; her parents, Paul and Letha Thompson; and three brothers, Ronnie Walker, Tony Walker and Billy Narmore.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Monica Thomas of Stafford, Va.; one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Willie Ausby of Michigan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Sharon Walker of Chile, South America, and Eddie and Stacy Challenger of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Towanna \"Tina\" Jewell Shaw and Danny Shaw of Englewood; six grandchildren, Latee, Daniel, Brittany, Tiara, Akil and Samir, all of Virginia; a special aunt, Billie Joe Cole of Cleburne, Texas; her in-laws, Anthony and Carolyn Banks; special nieces, Nacole, Krystle, Brittany, Laura, Kelly and Danielle; one nephew, Lee; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Everlasting Life Christian Center in Etowah with Pastor Teddy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Sullins Cemetery in Athens.
