Betty L. Ingram, 78, of Millington, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the home of her son, Bruce Ingram, in Englewood.



A native Munford, and a lifelong resident of Millington, she was a daughter of the late James Gayle and Lena Francis Higgins Lawrence and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clifton Maurice Ingram, in 2002; and one sister, Norma Coffman. She was a member of Decatur Trinity Christian Church in Bartlett. She was retired from the U.S. Civil Service, serving as comptroller at the U.S. Navy Base in Millington for 33 years.



She leaves behind one son, Bruce Ingram and his wife, Fayelyn, of Englewood; four grandchildren, Anna, Addison, Sam and Jack; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie and Doward Benefield of Bartlett, and Jimmie and Jack Pannell of Atoka; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Barbara Lawrence of Olive Branch, Miss.; and many nieces and nephews.



There will be no formal visitation or service held locally.



Funeral arrangements will be at the Millington Chapel of Munford Funeral Home in Millington.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children\'s Hospital, Attn: Memorial Dept., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105; or Decatur Trinity Church, 2449 Altruria, Bartlett, TN 38134.
