Edward \"Ed\" Nichols Bryan, 86, of Etowah, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a son of the late Carl and Fannie Bryan. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Bryan; one grandson, Wendall Freeman; five brothers, Elmer, Henry, Creepy, Roy and Richard; and one sister, Helen Ross. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren and his dog, Buster.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Geraldine Bryan of Etowah; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Lynn and Vickie Bryan of Delano, and Talbert Bryan, James and Joyce Bryan and Eddie and Leticia Bryan, all of Etowah; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ronald and Joyce Bryan Barnett and Janice Sue Bryan, all of Etowah; one sister, Hazel Quinn of Etowah; grandchildren, Amy and Eby Garwood, Wyatt and Christy Freeman, Roxanne and Gerald Frazier, Rita Plemons, Trina and Steven Ingram, Holly Bryan, Debra Bryan, Katlyn Bryan, Megan Bryan, Edward \"E.N.\" Bryan, T.J. Bryan, A.J. McKinney, Montanna McKinney, Casey Hall, Taylor Ingram, Bayleigh Ingram, Addie Ingram, Skylor Ingram, Seth Garwood, Tanner Plemmons, Abby Plemons, Madisyn Frazier, Jacksyn Frazier, Raven Robinson, Adam Hall and Wendall Bryan; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ray Seaton.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Blanchette and the Rev. Jack Bryan officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home and will proceed to Etowah Cemetery for the 10 a.m. burial.
Pallbearers will be Charles Bryan, Dylan Bryan, Jaron Bryan, Johnny Pellizzari, Carl Bryan, Eby Garwood and Steven Ingram.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
