Frances Louise Howard Fillers, 82, of Niota, passed away peacefully and is now in the arms of her Savior on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at her home.
A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Hardin and Ruth Byrum Howard and was preceded in death by one son, Michael Preston Fillers; one son-in-law, Leonard Brock; and two brothers, Melvin Howard and Victor Howard. She was a former employee of Ridge Textile and was a respiratory therapist at Athens Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, J.P. Fillers of Niota; one son and daughter-in-law, Darril and Debbie Fillers of Niota; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shelby Fillers of Athens, and Sandra Ann and Jack Wise of Newport; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie Wright of Athens, Geneva Anderson of Madisonville, Kathryn and Haskell McNabb of Cleveland, and Mary Helen and Albert Hyde of Athens; six grandchildren, Frieda Rich, Donny Cantrall, Roxie Harris, Melody Mason, Crystal Hubbard and Amanda Fillers; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Travis Torbett officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Jack Wise, David Hyde, Jackie Mason, Don Frank, Ray Harris, Jerry Harris, J.C. Mason and Sid Mason.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
