Gladys \"Sally\" Brite, 93, of Athens, died Thursday night, July 19, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Springfield, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Frederick W. and Wealtha Best Oberbeck, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Byron H. Brite; one sister, Betty Hutchison; and one son-in-law, John Perdue Sr. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy B. Perdue of Athens, and Jane and Leon Guthrie of Chattanooga; three granddaughters and their spouses, Janet and Chet Fussman, Judy and Bill Vokes and Susan and Brad Lott; one grandson and his wife, Johnny and Pam Perdue; and six great-grandchildren, Alex Perdue, Jack Perdue, Phoebe Lott, Devyn Fussman, Brennan Fussman and Will Vokes.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Dennie Humphreys officiating.
Pallbearers were Johnny Perdue, Bill Vokes, Brad Lott, Jerry Guthrie, Carlton Guthrie and Robert Guthrie.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tri-County Center, 3030 Lee Hwy., Athens, TN 37303.
