Ronald Lee \"Ronnie\" Moore, 62, of Decatur, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, in Decatur.
He was a native of McMinn County and a resident of Meigs County for more than 40 years. A son of the late George Edward and Maggie Russell Moore, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Gordon Moore; and two sisters, Donzella Wallis and Zella Mae \"Jo\" McClure. He was retired from Bowater Paper Company and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Swafford Moore of Decatur; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gene Lowe of Riceville; one son, Tracy Moore of Decatur; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Becky Moore of Riceville, J.B. Moore of Athens, Bud and Myrtle Moore of Decatur, and Lynn Moore of Athens; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie and Charles Gentry of Athens, and Sally and Doyal Hill of Decatur; five grandchildren, Justin and Kaitlyn Moore and Hunter, Hali and Hagen Lowe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry King officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Short Creek Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Lynn Moore, Roger Moore, Bill Skinner, Jewell Swafford, Wayne Swafford, Harold Turner and Tim Swafford.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
