Randall Jones Knox, 50, of Athens, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at his home following a battle with cancer.

A native of Monroe County and a longtime resident of Athens, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Roberts; and one brother, Ricky Knox. He was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Niota Textile.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann Hardy Knox of Athens; his parents, Sam Leon and Dorothy Deloris Moses Knox of Niota; three daughters and one son-in-law, Bridget and Craig Henry of Paint Rock, Samantha Knox of Athens, and April Knox of Sweetwater; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Matthew Hardy of Athens, Steven and Misty Knox of Niota, and Chris and Iwanna Knox of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Crystal Knox of Niota; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Deborah and William Mincey of Niota, Janet Baker - a special sister to him - of Athens, and Tammy Knox of Sweetwater; four grandchildren, Lexus Brown, Chris Knox Jr., Desirae Knox and Ethan Knox; two family friends, Jacob Bandy and Timmy Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Niota Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Pegram officiating. Burial will follow in Niota Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Craig Henry, Chris Knox, Gene Hardy, William Darst, Josh Brumitt, Jacob Bandy, Allen Henry and Rodney Knox.

The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
