Mary Doris King, 74, of Athens, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at her residence.
A native of Roane County and a resident of McMinn County for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late John Greer and Jessie Mae Stamper Hickey. A former employee of NHC Health Care of Athens, she was an employee of Wellington Place.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Niota, where she was a member of the choir, the Ruth Gideon Sunday School Class and the Elizabeth Jane Sewell Circle.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rex and Diane King of Niota, and Dan and Karri King of Farragut; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Paul Rayl of Niota, and Kay and Kevin Faulkenberry of Rock Hill, S.C.; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard Dwight and Cindy Hickey of Thorsby, Ala.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Carolyn and Jay Gould of Berne, Ind., and Eloise and Fred Henry of Powell; eight grandchildren, Kayla King, Kevin King, Jesse Rayl, Reagan King, Corbin King, Davis King, Rachel Faulkenberry and Nolan Faulkenberry; her former husbands, Harold D. King and Bruce Jordan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Niota with the Rev. Mike Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Edgemon Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Buddy Burkett, Chris Henry, Fred Henry Jr., Kevin King, Jesse Rayl and Corbin King.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
