Una Mae Denton, 86, of Decatur, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.
She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Denton; her father, Jess Goforth; her mother, Bertha Crook Goforth; two brothers, Rule Goforth and Jess \"Jr.\" Goforth; and one sister, Irene Howard.
Survivors include two sons, David Skidmore and his wife, Pat, and Bo Denton and his wife Shirlene, of Decatur; two daughters, Rebecca \"Sue\" Snyder and her husband, Jack, of Cleveland, and Linda Wilson and her husband, Wayne, of Decatur; one brother, Dee Goforth and his wife, Ruby, of Riceville; one sister, Geneva Sewell of the Buckhorn community; eight grandchildren, Richie and Kasey Skidmore, Tiffany Harris, Joshua Lee, Tosha Cranfield, Lakeisha Denton, Justin Wilson and Caletha Vaughn; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pearman and the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richie Skidmore, Kasey Skidmore, Justin Wilson, Joshua Lee, Chris Harris and Blake Cranfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Skidmore and Brian Passolt.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
