Clarence \"Bud\" Partin, 76, of Englewood, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Chattanooga and a longtime resident of Englewood, he was a son of the late Clarence Eugene and Grace Phillips Partin. He was recently preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jean Strickland.
He was well-known from Chattanooga to Knoxville as an expert diesel mechanic, having retired from Roberts Brothers Motors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Ringgold, Ga.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Gladys Brinkley Partin of Englewood; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Curtis Osborne of Englewood; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clarence Dewayne and Cynthia Partin of Dayton, Darrell Glenn Partin of Cleveland, and David Allen and Alison Partin of Englewood; two sisters, Bobbie Headrick of Ringgold, Ga., and Tiny Partin-Smith of Chattanooga; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William Doyle and Loretta Partin of Stockbridge, Ga., and Joe and Karen Partin of Apison; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Partin, Laura Partin, Samantha Partin, Rachel Partin, Courtney Osborne, Constance Osborne, Brandon Partin, Camdon Partin and Emily Partin; and two \"special\" grandchildren, Cameron Powers and Amanda McSpadden.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Osborne and Brother Clarence Partin officiating. Entombment will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in the McMinn Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
