Carlos Hayward Piersaul Sr. of Athens died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.



A native of Cleveland and a resident of McMinn County for the past seven years, he was a son of the late James A. Hayward Piersaul and was of the Full Gospel faith.



Survivors include his wife of one year, Jessica Piersaul of Athens; his mother, Bernice Bailey of Athens; four sons, Carlos Hayward Piersaul Jr., Kordell Cooper, Treaven Moses and Richard Evans, all of Athens; four daughters, Lakeia Wells of Knoxville, Kanessa Piersaul of Warren, Mich., Shtonda of Athens, and Donna Lanier of Newaygo, Mich.; four brothers, Robert Bailey Jr. and Fredrick Bailey, both of Athens, Emmanuel Bailey of Decatur, and Richy Piersaul of Clayton, N.C.; two sisters, Deanna Hitchcock of Chattanooga, and Pamela Upton of Sweetwater; three stepbrothers, Austin Morgan of Georgetown, and Doyle Benton and Gary Benton, both of Cleveland; two stepsisters, Geneva Arnold of Chattanooga, and Carolyn Morgan of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating.



The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
