Charles Garland \"Chuck\" Watson, 74, of Dalton, Ga., departed this life on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at his residence.
Born April 21, 1938, in Athens, he enjoyed fishing and inventing and had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eva Watson; and one brother, Robin Watson.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott Watson and Shawn and Amanda Watson, all of Dalton, Ga.; one daughter, Tina Mooney of Cohutta, Ga.; one brother, W.D. Watson of Tennessee; two sisters, Jean Ware of Charleston, and Gail Farmer of Manchester; and six grandchildren, Jennifer Watson, Dustin Watson, Dakotah Watson, Jacob Watson, Justin Watson and Jayden Watson.
A memorial service was 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with the Rev. Stacy Hensley officiating.
The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Dalton Funeral Home of Dalton, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
