William Jacob Gowin, 26, of Athens, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of Bradley County and a longtime resident of McMinn County, he was preceded in death by his father, Wilks Michael Gowin. He was a member of McMahan Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kathy Kyker and David William Cawlfield of Athens; one brother, Wilks Noah Gowin of Athens; his grandparents, Richard and Frances Kyker of Athens, and Charles and Martha Gowin of Englewood; his step-grandfather, William Cawlfield of Athens; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Black officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
