Henry \"Curtis\" Duckett, 81, of Delano, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
A resident of Delano for much of his life, he was a charter member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Calhoun.
He was retired from the City of Etowah and was a son of the late Henry and Ann Duckett. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Hamby Duckett; one sister, Geraldine Hammons; and three children, Ralph Edward, Curtis Lebron and Rachel Curtis Duckett.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Blankenship Duckett of Delano; two daughters, Sarah Duckett Sprague and her fiancé, Bruce McMinn, of Englewood, and Annette Bright of Georgia; three sons, Ronnie, Ricky and Rodney Duckett, all of Georgia; one special grandson, Anthony Sprague of Englewood; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Angelee Blankenship of Englewood; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Delano Cemetery with Pastor Russ Maples officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
