Ozell Newman Norwood, 76, of Etowah, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home in Etowah.
A daughter of the late Colonel and Etta Newman, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Norwood; one son, Tommy Brooks; and two brothers, Howard and Jerry Newman.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Norwood of Athens; one grandson, Caleb Carter of Athens; one sister, Eula Mae Huggins of Englewood; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Jimmie Newman of Tellico Plains; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Newman of Athens, Zelma Newman of Englewood, Kenneth and Elizabeth Norwood of Cleveland, and James and Mary Janes of Benton; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. Monday at Mars Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Doyle Bowers officiating.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
