Carolyn McKee Nelson, 74, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, April 21, 2012, at her residence.
A lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late William Hooper McKee and Lela Stanton Kyle, and was also preceded in death by three brothers Kenneth, Larry and Michael Kyle. She was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Nelson Nunley and Jack Nunley of Athens; one granddaughter, Lt. JG Candice M. Nunley of NAS Whidbey Island, Wash.; one sister, Janie McKee Moses of Riceville; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Garry Wayne Kyle of Chattanooga, Barry and Jan Kyle of Ooltewah, Teddy Kyle of Knoxville, and Edward and Anita Kyle of Athens; and special aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Services with the Rev. Jerry Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Garry Wayne Kyle, Barry Kyle, Jack Nunley, Keith Slayton, Edward Morrow and Mark McCraw.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
