Rodney Moore, 55, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.



A native of Athens, a former resident of Knoxville and a resident of McMinn County for the past six years, he was a son of the late Condon and Louise M. Moore, and was preceded in death by one sister, Loretta Linder; and one brother-in-law, John Pascal. He was of the Church of God faith and served eight years in the U.S. Army.



Survivors include his companion, Sharon Scudder of Etowah; five brothers, David Darrel Linder and John Mitchell Linder, both of Athens, and Condon Moore Jr., Vennis Moore and Kenneth Moore, all of Knoxville; 10 sisters and brothers-in-law, Latricia Moore, Rebecca Jenkins and Phyllis and Ivan Johnson, all of Knoxville, Carla Mae Moore, Drusilla and Gary Johnson, Uneeda and John Pascal and Flesia Moore, all of Sweetwater, and Beverly Moore, Loretta Moore and Virginia Moore, all of Detroit, Mich.; four aunts, Jo Ann Roberson, Goldean Roberson, Jimmy Linder and Haddie Moore; one uncle, Phillip Moore; special friends, William Thompson, Calvin Thompson, Linda Benton, Edith Dee and Carolyn Harper; a special friend\'s daughter, Kathryn Haynes; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Peakland Cemetery.



Active pallbearers will be Michael Smith Jr., William E. Moore, Rashad Hawkins, Derrick Haynes, Jamall Scudder, Tony Harper, Tyrone Jenkins, Ivan Johnson and Gary Johnson.



The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
