Marcheta Rose Cochran Prigmore, 87, of Cookeville, died suddenly on Sunday morning, April 15, 2012, at Masters Health Care Center.



She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Chattanooga to the late George Reed and Dorothy Athena Kelley Cochran.



She was an outstanding homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, and was a longtime resident of Athens, where she was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church for 64 years. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir, along with many other church-related activities.



After moving to Cookeville in 2003, she attended Cookeville First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1944 and in 1968. She was an avid lace collector and shared her collections in talks and exhibition with many groups over the years.



She was preceded in death by her loving husband and the father of her children, John R. Prigmore; her second husband, Ralph R. Priddy; and one sister, Mary Ruth Kauffman.



Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John and Susie Prigmore of Jonesville, N.C.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Reinke of Dallas, Texas, Becky and Robert Priddy of Asheville, N.C., and Nancy Knowlton of Cookeville; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Reinke and Bill Sterns, Travis and Heather Priddy, R. Brooke Priddy and Ryan Conrad, Catherine Murphy, Tim and Ashley, Michael and Charlie Prigmore, Brenda and Justin and Amelda Lente and Jennifer, Orianna and Michael Knowlton; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 10 a.m. CST Wednesday in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Nelms officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m. EST at Green Hill Cemetery in Etowah.



Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
