Jerry Thomas \"Tommy\" Pritchett, 40, of Athens, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas C.R. Martin; his grandmother, Francis Jewel Martin; his step-grandmother, Versie Whitlock Martin; and his stepmother, Vickie Riden Pritchett.
Survivors include his mother, Melinda Pritchett of Athens; his father, Jerry Pritchett of Riceville; one sister, Melissa Pritchett of Athens; one daughter, Makayla Pritchett of Spring City; two nephews, Cameron and Conner Dodd; one niece, Madelyn Forehlich of Athens; aunts and uncles, Meredith Gray of Birmingham, Ala., Marilyn Atchley of Cleveland, Sharon Young and her husband, Johnny Young, of Decatur, Ray and Barbara Whitlock of Athens, and George Pritchett and his wife, Barbara, of Riceville; and special friends, Allen Torbett, Donald Vaughn and Chad Forehlich.
The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Kyker Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at West View Cemetery with the Rev. C.W. Young officiating.
Pallbearers were Allen Torbett, George Pritchett, Greg Whitlock, Chris Teague, Jeff Dolan, Allen Wilburn, Donald Vaughn and Tracy Martin. Harold Decker served as an honorary pallbearer.
Memorial contributions may be made to SouthEast Bank & Trust of Athens in Jerry Thomas Prichett\'s name to help defray funeral expenses.
Kyker Funeral Home of Sweetwater is in charge of arrangements.
