Thurston Thomas \"Tommy\" Lamb

Thurston Thomas \"Tommy\" Lamb, 62, of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 9, 2012, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.



A native of Cleveland, Ohio, a former resident of Meigs County, and a resident of McMinn County for the past 38 years, he was a son of the late Martin S. and Dorothy Marie Patterson Lamb. He was a member of Knoxville Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, was an employee of Bowater and a former employee of Athens Table Company.



Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Margaret Ann Houston Lamb; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Greg Lamb and Tony and Laura Lamb, all of Athens; one daughter, Teri Lamb of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, James \"Roho\" and Dianne Lamb of Athens; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada and David Robinson of Athens, and Patsy and Charles Gennoe of Cleveland; six grandchildren, Keri Lamb, Katlyn Lamb, Sydney Lamb, Connie Schaulk Lamb, Hannah DeSherlia and Kelsey DeSherlia; two honorary grandchildren, Nic Houston and Cassie McWilliams; one half-brother, Johnny Lamb; and seven half-sisters, Margaret Goins, Frances Belcher, Susie Peeler, Bobbie Wallace, Sandra Ware, Judy Waddel and Alice Karmen.



Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Hampton and Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.



Active pallbearers will be Josh Davis, Gordon Newman, David Robinson, Ronnie Grady, Norm Eaton and Jeffrey Lamb.



The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
