Jimmie Anderson Robinson

He was of the Baptist faith, and was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of East Tennessee, a life member of D.A.V., a life member of V.F.W., and a life member of American Legion. He was the former owner of ABC Locksmith, was a truck driver and a master locksmith. He was an avid fisherman, and was preceded in death by his father, Jesse A. Robinson; one sister, Helen Hatton; and one brother, Edward Robinson.
Survivors include his mother, Ettie Mae Shurley of Decatur; his wife, Glenda Eckert Robinson of Athens; one son, Jimmie Robinson Jr. of New Castle, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Gail and Kelvin Hampton of Athens, and Donna Lynn and Donald Benton of Decatur; four brothers, David Robinson of Athens, Glyn Robinson of Etowah, Andrew Robinson of Englewood, and Jeff Robinson of California; five sisters, Joyce Julian of Decatur, and Nola White, Loretta Patterson, Teresa Underdown and Marie Henry, all of Athens; three grandchildren, Jonathan Hampton, Kristy Hampton and Cheyenne Robinson; and nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special cousin, Chester Robinson.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Van Elkins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
