Gail Carter Wilson

Gail Carter Wilson, 56, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Decatur and Central Baptist Church in Athens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnice and Dorothy Dennis Carter; and one brother, David Carter.

Survivors include two sons, Shannon Norwood and Brandon Young, both of Athens; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Frances Carter of Decatur; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Faye Farmer of Knoxville, and Debbie and Danny Smith and Betty Jennings, all of Decatur; and four grandchildren, Garrett Young, Warren Young, Tyler Norwood and Kelby Norwood.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

Tyler Norwood will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
