Carol Dean Barham Buchheit

Carol Dean Barham Buchheit, 68, of Jamestown, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at her home following a courageous four-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig\'s Disease).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lena Barham.

Survivors include her husband, John Quincy Buchheit III of Jamestown; two sons, Dr. John Quincy \"Butch\" Buchheit and his wife, Sabra, and Jack Thomas Buchheit and his wife, Wendy, all of Knoxville; three sisters, Betty Trotter of Riceville, Ann Anderson of Fairfield Glade, and Judy Guinn and her husband, Charlie, of Athens; and four grandchildren, Quincy Buchheit, Rachel Buchheit, Wesley Buchheit and Sophie Buchheit, all of Knoxville.

Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Jamestown United Methodist Church and 4 p.m. Saturday at Spring Creek United Methodist Church in Calhoun with Brother Thad Collier and Brother Jim Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Lower Spring Creek Cemetery in Riceville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Chapter of Tennessee or to Jamestown United Methodist Church.

Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown was in charge of arrangements.
