Raymond Minnis Jr.

Raymond \"Ray\" Lester Minnis Jr., 78, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his residence.

He was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lester Minnis Sr. and Lula Pearl Farris Minnis; and three brothers, Ralph Minnis, Kenneth Minnis and Bob Minnis.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Anderson Minnis of Decatur; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shelia Minnis of Decatur, and Kimberly and Chris Kelly of Decatur; three grandchildren, Gretchen Ruiz, Tonya Brown and Andrew Kelly; one great-grandson, Nathan Brown; and several nephews, including a special nephew, Ralph \"Dude\" Minnis.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pearman officiating. Burial will be noon Wednesday in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Kelly, Richard Mason, Ryan Brown, Ralph \"Dude\" Minnis, Larry Lockmiller Jr. and Alberto Ruiz.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
