Henry Sylvester Carlock

Henry Sylvester Carlock, 77, of Etowah, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, in an Etowah health care facility.

He was a member of Harwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Etowah, and was a son of the late Harvey Carlock and Marie Wiley. He was preceded in death by his sister, Corene Anthony.

Survivors include one daughter, Reneé Biran of Athens; two nephews and their spouses, Jessiee James and Donna Anthony of Louisville, Ky., and Joseph Felix and Judy Anthony of Etowah; two nieces, Gloria Anthony of Calhoun, and Rhoda Anthony of Charleston; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Angela Billingsley officiating. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery in Etowah.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
