Troy L. Moses, 77, of Dalton, Ga., and a former Etowah resident, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 17, 2009, at his residence.

A son of the late W.F. and Maggie Crockett Moses, he was a native of Etowah, and had lived in Dalton for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Mark\'s Episcopal Church, and was a food supervisor with the U.S. Army. He was retired U.S. Army of 24 years, serving in the Korean conflict and three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by one brother, Reese Moses; one sister, Eva Lou Fowler; and his first wife, Ruth Holmes Moses.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Mauney Moses of Dalton, Ga.; one daughter, Patricia Moore of Dalton, Ga.; one grandson, Rodney Lumpkin of Limerick, Pa.; two granddaughters, Missy White of Sumner, Ga., and Gina Seritt of Dalton, Ga.; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Betty Moses and James and Katherine Moses, all of Etowah.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at St. Mark\'s Episcopal Church in Dalton, Ga. with the Rev. Dean Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Taylor officiating with full military honors. The family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
