Due to the ever-evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of today, Athens Utilities Board has closed its main lobby at 100 New Englewood Road to walk in services until further notice.

There are still options for AUB customers to get assistance, though, even with the lobby closed.

• Customers can call at 423-745-4501 to speak with customer service, to have someone assist them in making a payment over the phone, or to set up an appointment if there’s a need to meet with an AUB representative.

• Pay by phone with credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, American Express). Call 423-271-8024. Have the account number ready to enter into the automated system.

• Pay through the drive through during business hours (Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or via the after-hours night drop

• Pay online at www.aub.org with one-time payment or access your AUB account. AUB representatives will provide IT support.

There are no additional charges associated with using the online or phone payment options.

In anticipation of higher call volumes, AUB has also set up additional staff to take payments over the phone.

“We will closely monitor the status of events and health issues in the community and make a decision on reopening the lobby when we feel it is safe for our customers and employees,” stated an AUB news release. “As always, we appreciate your patience and support as we all work through these unusual times.”
