Holy Week Services: hosted by the Athens-McMinn Ministerial Association (AMMA) will be held April 15-19 at 12:05 p.m. each day. Lunch/refreshments will be served following each service and a special offering will be collected for Coordinated Charities of Athens. Monday’s service will be at Allen Memorial UMC, located at 800 Decatur Pike in Athens, with Minister Thomas Allen from Greater Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Pope Avenue Baptist Church: will feature Thomas Brown on Sunday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m. Church located at 301 Pope St., in Athens.

Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Etowah: will have Holy Week services April 14-17. Dr. Jerry Russell will be the guest speaker and there will be special music each night. The Palm Sunday morning service will begin at 11 a.m. with musical performances by the Wesley Adult Choir, Wesley Children’s Choir with Jessica Goodin, and the drama, “The Blood,” performed by Becca Woods and Kaylyn Knox. Sunday evening services start at 6 p.m., with music and singing by the Raper Family. Monday-Wednesday services start at 7 p.m. each night. Special singers will be: Monday — Central Harmony Choir; Tuesday — Wesley Adult Choir; and Wednesday — Lacey Passmore Starkey. The church is located at 923 Ohio Ave.

Lane’s Chapel AME Zion Church: will hold a fish fry on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. Church located at 304 County Road 264 in Niota.

New Beginnings Baptist Church: will be in revival April 10-14 with Brother Anthony Johnson preaching. Friday services begin at 7 p.m. The Saturday service starts at 6 p.m., and Sunday services will be held at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Special singers will be: Gary West & Friends on Friday; Heaven Seekers on Saturday; preaching by Brother Benny Goodman and singing by Linda Gennoe, Adam Shelton and John Asbel on Sunday morning; and Eastern Sky on Sunday night.
